Design Optimization of a Hybrid Vibration Control System for Buildings

Control of high-rise structures under seismic excitations was investigated using a passive hybrid control system consisting base-isolation (BI) subsystem and tuned liquid column damper (TLCD) system. Both the systems were optimized considering other in same structure. An optimization method developed, computer code written based on dynamic analysis structure metaheuristic methods. Within scope study, general solution found by many earthquake records during process. Moreover, one most suitable successful algorithms used this study. In addition, numerical simulations performed benchmark building to investigate effectiveness controlling response building. The performance base-isolated TLCD-controlled examined when TLCD placed base floor set 44 recorded ground motions as excitations.
